From Bristol to London to Toronto, three specialist shanty podcasts are joining forces for a special live celebration of International Podcast Day.
On Wednesday 30 September 2026 at 7:30pm UK time, Shipshape and Bristol Fashion, The Shanty Show and Shantycast! will come together live to celebrate podcasting, maritime music and the extraordinary international community that has grown around sea shanties.
This is not just three podcasts talking about shanties.
It is three different corners of the shanty world coming together for one night.
Expect stories, music, conversation, audience interaction, plenty of laughter – and quite possibly a few shanties along the way.

Shipshape and Bristol Fashion brings the voice of Bristol and the Port of Bristol Shanty Crew, hosted by Justin “Oggie” Blackett. The podcast explores the people, stories, music and adventures behind the modern shanty community, combining interviews, live performances, maritime history and festival stories.
The Shanty Show, produced by Toronto's Pressgang Mutiny, takes an international approach, talking to shanty singers, performers, scholars and historians from around the world. Its guests have included figures from Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Catalonia, Ireland, the UK, the Caribbean and North America.
Shantycast! comes from the Dockyard Dogs, the RNLI City of London Tower Station shanty band. The podcast combines sea shanties, naval history, maritime stories and plenty of pub banter, with listeners invited to learn the stories behind songs and sing along with the chorus.
